How to get a “Certificate of Disinfection” or a “Certificate of Application”…
Certificate of Disinfection
A certificate of disinfection is issued once a premises has been full sanitized as per the (OHSS-SBBP-SSOP) Standard Safe Operating Procedure for disinfecting using the BioProtect SA All-in-One Disinfectant.
Only if the technician is satisfied that the procedure has been followed to ensure quality and efficacy of the product, will Starbreak South Africa issue a “Certificate of Disinfection”.
The certificate is valid for 30 days. During the 30 day period, clients must utilize the checklist for “High-touched Areas” and ensure weekly surface cleaning is done. Failure to follow the procedures as set out in the Starbreak Manual for sanitization may result in reduced efficiency of the micro-biostatic coating and ultimately an increased risk exposer.
Certificate of Application
Starbreak South Africa clients have the unique opportunity to opt for their own sanitization service systems. How does this work?
Purchase the ULV (Ultra Low Volume) fogging machine as well as the BioProtect SA Sanitize All-in-One disinfectant product and receive full training on the disinfection procedure. You will also receive a training manual and the OHSS-S2-Sanitize-Checklist. This checklist must be completed as per the maintenance plan in order to qualify for the “Certificate of Application” as shown on the left.
Starbreak in conjunction with OHSS Consulting (Pty) Ltd will issue you with a maintenance plan schedule that will be tailored to suit your needs. Periodic audits will take place to ensure quality. Please consult your Starbreak Representative for full details.

How long does the the Disinfection last on surfaces?
It has been proven to last for up to 90 days on surfaces. However, with the uncertainty of “High-touch Areas” within your environment, Starbreak has developed a 90 Day Maintenance Plan that will suit both your needs and your pocket, thus given you complete sanitization solutions that are bespoke to you!
How is this different to my disinfectant?
The key to the BioProtect SA All-in-One lies in its unique science of Nano-Technology. Once applied, BioProtect SA Disinfectant creates a biostatic antimicrobial coating that gives the residual protection on these surfaces for up to 90 days. Since it is Non-alcohol based, it will not damage the surface. Improved efficacy of the disinfectant will happen with repeated use and only serve to improve the working area in combating viral infections and combating broad spectrum micro-organisms.
How long does it take to work?
The active ingredient of BioProtect 3-(trihydroxysilyl) propyl dimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride (0.5%) is fast acting in that it will start to kill bacteria and viruses within 60 seconds. Due to the Nano-Technology, it is advisable to allow the product to dry (forming a covalent bond) for a minimum of 30 – 45 min. Once dried, the product will have continued efficacy with repeated use.
Is it safe for my family and pets?
The BioProtect All-in-One Sanitizing Disinfectant combats the elimination of micro-organisms that spread via droplets and air borne bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores.
In its current form it does not have any hazardous concerns*. It does not cause fumes, irritation, staining or corrosion to any surfaces. No rinsing is required, and the disinfectant is completely biodegradable.
*Please note that all disinfectants have MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and these must be consulted prior to the use of the BioProtect SA Disinfectant Product.
